St. Agnes Alums Raise $34K for School

Alumni basketball game and dinner raises funds for St. Agnes science lab.

The newly formed St. Agnes Cathedral School Alumni Association recently held its inaugural All-Class Reunion Celebration and All-Star Basketball Game at the St. Agnes Parish Center and gym. The school fundraiser proved to be successful, as it raised more than $34,000 for the renovation and modernization of the school science lab.

The evening started with a highly competitive alumni all-star basketball game. Celebrity alumni coaches Bill Donovan Sr. and Brian Mahoney led their teams in a hard fought match-up of alums, who either wore green or gold — the school's colors. In the end, Mahoney's green team came away with the victory.

After the game, the celebration continued at the alumni party held at the Parish Center. More than 425 alumni and friends came to reunite with former classmates and celebrate their years at St. Agnes. Memories were shared and new ones were made as everyone enjoyed the music of fellow alums Phil Ferguson, Jane Burke and Rockville Centre's own Matt Barthel.  The guests also enjoyed the food and service of Kasey's American Bar and Grill.
