South Side High School junior Kieran McCarthy on Saturday won the Cross Country Nassau County Championship race at Bethpage State Park.
With a time of 16:45, Kieran was crowned Nassau County Champion. He is now ranked number six of all time at SSHS for fastest 5K races.
“After reviewing the season, conferencing with my coaches and setting goals, I figured that a top 5 finish would be an honor," McCarthy said, "but to end as the county champ is more than I could ever dream of, especially as a junior.”
