South Side High School's playoff season is set to get back on track this week after Hurricane Sandy delayed games on Long Island for nearly two weeks.
The top-ranked Lady Cycones soccer team will host No. 8 Wantagh Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at Skelos Field.
The girls easily defeated No. 16 Mineola 6-0 in the first round of the playoffs back on Oct. 26.
Meanwhile, the eighth-seeded South Side boys soccer team is set to take on No. 16 Roslyn, fresh off a major upset of top-seeded Lawrence. The game will kick off immediately after the girls game at Skelos Field Thursday at 7 p.m.
The Cyclones edged out No. 9 West Hempstead in the first round.
No. 2 South Side girls volleyball will play at South Side this Friday at 4:45 p.m. The Lady Cyclones earned a bye through the first round and will play the winner of the Herricks/Lynbrook matchup on Thursday.
Should all of the teams continue to advance, multiple games will be squeezed in a short period of time. Both girls county championships are scheduled for Sunday, with the boys soccer championship scheduled for Monday.
Lastly, the Nassau County swimming championships start Friday at 6:30 p.m. at the Nassau Aquatic Center in Eisenhower Park. The diving championships start Saturday at 9 a.m. at the same location, followed by rest of swimming.
