South Side Girls Volleyball Wins Mineola Tourney

The South Side Lady Cyclones volleyball team traveled to Mineola High School on Sept. 15 for their second tournament of the season.

Repeating their performance from the previous weekend when they won the Herrick tournament, the girls advanced to the championship round undefeated and, again, emerged No. 1.

The girls, who fell in five sets to Wantagh last year in the Nassau County Championship, swept Kennedy in two sets on Saturday to win the Mineola Tournament.

Allison Leonard received the All-Tournament Player award and for the second weekend in a row, while Allison Glass received the MVP award.
