RVC Native Finalist For Prestigious Lax Award

Siena lax captain Tom Morr was named a finalist for the 2012 Lowe's Senior CLASS Award.

Rockville Centre native and Siena College senior lacrosse captain Tom Morr was recently named a finalist for the 2012 Lowe's Senior Class Award — an honor given to senior student athletes who excel in community, classroom, character and competition.

CLASS is an acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School.

Morr is one of just 10 finalists nationally for this prestigious award and the only goalie on the list. He was one of just 20 candidates selected in the original voting for the award along with classmate Bryan Neufeld.

In the classroom, Morr is a three-time MAAC All-Academic Team selection and holds a cumulative GPA of 3.41 while majoring in history. Off the field, Morr  along with his teammates, make several visits annually and cook dinner at the Ronald McDonald House, and have participated each year in the Center for Disability Services telethon. He and his teammates have made a donation to the event each year while also answering phone calls and taking pledges. Last year, the event raised $1.96 million.

Lowe's will announce the winner during the NCAA Div. I Lacrosse Finals on May 26 and May 28.
