Registration Open for TOPSoccer Program

TOPSoccer, which provides children with cognitive or physical disability the opportunity to learn and play soccer, will begin its fall 2013 season this Sunday at Covert Elementary School.

The Rockville Centre Soccer Club program will run from September through mid-November, with practices held Sundays from 10 to 11 a.m.

Free registration is open to any child with a cognitive or physical disability including but not limited to A.D.D., autism, sight impaired, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury, Down Syndrome, cystic fibrosis, multiple sclerosis, seizure disorder and Spina Bifida. To register, go to www.rvcsoccer.net and register at TOPSoccer. Uniforms are provided to all players.

According to the soccer club, the benefits of TOPSoccer are:

  • Drills and games are adapted to ensure everyone’s participation

  • Greater volunteer to player ratios

  • Individual and group instruction

  • Participate in home practice, team games and tournaments

  • Fall season dates are Sept. 8, 22 and 29, Oct 5 (Saturday New Hyde Park Tournament at Denton Avenue School), Oct. 20 and 27, Nov. 3, Nov. 10 (TOPSoccer Luncheon at Huntington Hilton), Nov. 17 (Parents vs. players a possibility).
