PLAYOFFS: No. 6 South Side Takes on No. 3 Island Trees

The South Side Cyclones baseball team have received the No. 6 seed for the Nassau County Class A playoffs, which start on May 14.

The Cyclones (12-5)  —  Conference A-II champs —  will take on No. 3 seed Island Trees (14-3) — Conference A-V champs — in Levittown at 11 a.m on May 14 in the first-round matchup. Probable starter for South Side is lefty Christian Colletti and for Island Trees, Mike Jeannetti.

How the Playoffs Work

For seeds 1-8, it's double elimination. The No. 1 seed will play No. 8, No. 2 will play No. 7, etc., on Saturday. The winners of those games receive a bye on Monday and advance to a best of three series that starts May 18. The losers of those games play the winners of the No. 9 through No. 16 matchups, who also play Saturday, on Monday.
