South Side Student Qualifies for Nassau All-Star Math Team

"Mathlete" will represent Nassau County at two competitions.

South Side High School student Yu Kuan (Anthony) Lai was recently named to the Nassau County All-Star Mathematics Team.

Qualification was based on performance in the Nassau County Interscholastic Mathematics League, having scored among the top 50 individuals out of more than 1,000 competitors from 60 high schools across the county.

The All-Star Team will represent Nassau County at two competitions: The New York State Math League (state championship), to be held in April in Armonk, N.Y., and the American Regions Math League, the national championship, to be held in June at Pennsylvania State University.
