South Side High School Ranked No. 2 in NYS

U.S. News & World Report also ranked the school among the top 100 in the nation.

U.S. News & World Report has released its Best High Schools in New York rankings and has captured the No. 2 spot among 1,165 other schools.

South Side was also ranked 22nd nationally and achieved Gold Medal status by U.S. News.

South Side High School takes a traditional approach to classroom learning, but offers students an opportunity to excel via honors, Advanced Placement, and International Baccalaureate options. Students at South Side High School can explore student groups such as the engineering club and the military history club. Many South Side High graduates receive the New York State Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation, and students can earn college credit for some courses through Long Island University.

U.S. News calculated these rankings based on student performance on state exit exams and other data.
