Sheila Kelly to Be Inducted into Molloy College Athletic Hall

RVC resident was a standout soccer and softball player.

Sheila Kelly-Carberry of Rockville Centre is among three athletes who will be inducted into the 2012 Hall of Fame class at Molloy College.

Kelly-Carberry was a standout for the soccer and softball teams from 1995-98. On the pitch, she accumulated 138 points, a Molloy all-time mark, off of 61 goals and 36 assists. Kelly-Carberry also attempted 147 shots in 47 total appearances.

In the Lions' record book, her name can be spotted everywhere, and anywhere. She ranks as the program's all-time single-season record holder for goals, goals per game, points, points per game, shots and shots per game.

Meanwhile, on the softball field, Kelly-Carberry had the same type of success. She was a lifetime .401 hitter, with 11 big flies and 178 RBI. The Rockville Centre native also added 165 runs scored, to go along with a .606 slugging, and a .455 on-base percentage.

Like her efforts in soccer, Kelly-Carberry achieved great milestones with the bat as well. She presently owns the Lions' single-season records for triples (11) and RBI (73), and ranks in the Top-5 all-time for a career in eight statistical categories.

The Molloy College Department of Athletics Hall of Fame Dinner will be held on Friday, Oct. 19, in the Anselma Room, in Kellenberg Hall on the school's campus. The cocktail hour will begin at 6:30 p.m., with a reception to follow.
