RVC School Budget Vote Being Held Tuesday

Vote will be held in the South Side High School gym from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The annual Rockville Centre School District budget vote is Tuesday.

Residents will have the opportunity to vote either for or against a $100.7 million budget for the 2013-14 school year.

The budget is a nearly $3.5 million or 3.59 percent increase over the previous budget. The proposed school year tax levy is 3.55 percent.

This year’s board of education race features current trustee John O’Shea seeking re-election against challenger Lynda Rubino.

O’Shea and Rubino squared off in a public forum earlier May where residents had the opportunity to ask the candidates various questions about the school district.

The district’s budget vote will be held in the South Side High School gym from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday.

Check back on Rockville Centre Patch after 9 p.m. for official 2012-13 budget and board of education results.
