Free Caregiver Support Group

**Please note, this group meets every Tuesday, but there will be no meetings Oct. 9 or Dec. 4.

Location: South Nassau's Conference Room 2

Caring for a loved one can be overwhelming. We are here to provide you with practical, as well as emotional, support and guidance. Being with other caregivers can be helpful and informative. South Nassau’s Palliative Care & Geriatric Services offers a weekly support group for caregivers of patients with chronic and/or serious illnesses, to provide information and offer support. This support group is open to visitors, patients, employees and medical staff. You are invited to discuss, with other care givers as well as clinical and allied health professionals and advocates, options and resources available to you while caring for an ill loved one. Topics covered include: What is an advance directive or health care proxy? How do I best communicate with the medical team, to be informed and access resources?

For more information, please call Palliative Care & Geriatric Services at (516) 632-4219 or e-mail Kathleen.Morse@snch.org
