$3.1M in upgrades won't cost the taxpayers a penny, officials said.

The Board of Education approved a district-wide energy performance contract at Tuesday's public work session, and officials said the $3.1 million in energy-efficient upgrades the district will undergo won't cost village taxpayers any money.

Robert Bartells, assistant superintendent of finance, said that the savings generated by the new upgrades will pay for them in full. To find out exactly what upgrades will be made and who is doing the work, .

At a previous meeting on April 27, district officials discussed spending between $50,000-$70,000 to make emergency auditorium repairs at the high school. According to officials, the "riggings" on the ceiling of the auditorium were loose after an employee accidentally pulled out its support. The auditorium is safe for use, Bartells said, and there is no timetable for completion of this project.
