Absentee Ballot Applications Available for Referendum Bond Vote

Bond referendum vote scheduled for March 19.

The following is from the Rockville Centre School District:

Absentee ballots to be used in the special meeting of the Rockville Centre UFSD to vote on a bond referendum on Tuesday, March 19, are available through the district clerk.

Persons are eligible to use an absentee ballot if they are unable to appear due to illness or disability; outside the county due to ordinary duties, occupation, or business; outside the county due to special circumstances not usual to duties, occupation, business, or studies; vacation; spouse, parent or child accompanying voter entitled to absentee ballot; detained or confined in jail or prison.

An application for an absentee ballot may be obtained at the district office, located at 128 Shepherd St., or by calling (516) 255-8921. It may also be downloaded from the school district’s website.

An absentee ballot may be used for voting for a bond referendum.

For a ballot to be mailed to the eligible voter, the application must be received by the district clerk at least seven days before the election. An application may also be picked up in person in the office of the district clerk no later than the day before the election. The ballot itself must be received in the office of the district clerk by 5 p.m. on March 19, the day of the vote.
