Town Hosts 9/11 Memorial, Supervisor's Cup Roster Announced

A weekly look-in at news in the Town of Hempstead.

The Town of Hempstead hosted its annual 9/11 Memorial Service Tuesday at Point Lookout Beach.

At the 11th anniversary this year, an interactive program helped facilitate a connection between the victims of September 11th and those attending the ceremony. By writing the names of victims and other appropriate messages on a "Heroes of 9/11 Panorama," neighbors helped keep alive the legacy of love created by those who perished at Ground Zero.

During the round of golf, there will be contests for "Four Player Scramble," "Closest to the Pin," "Most Accurate Drive" and "Longest Drive." A handsome "Supervisor's Cup" trophy will be presented to the winning foursome. This tournament is open to Town of Hempstead residents only.

Nice way to try to introduce potential future business to the Lido Golf Course... Too bad Golf is pathetic though.

I happen to enjoy golf Mr. Dunes. I may not agree with you but I respect your opinion. But please do not call golf pathetic if you wish to register your dislike.

Obviously Mr. Dunes is not a golfer. Those who play tend to have more tact and etiquette than those who don't. The game also teaches self-control. Maybe Mr. Dunes should take it up! LOL
