As of 12:25 a.m., New York State Sen. Dean Skelos, R-Rockville Centre, has a commanding lead on challenger George Sava for the 9th Senate District seat. Skelos currently leads with 68 percent of the vote, with 111 of the 269 precincts being reported, according to the Nassau County Board of Elections.
If Skelos were to win, it would be his 14th term on the New York State Senate.
