RVC Teen to Attend Military Academy at West Point

A Rockville Centre high school student is among 10 people from New York’s Fourth Congressional District that will soon be attending U.S. military service academies, Rep. Carolyn McCarthy announced.

Dillon Burke, an Xavier High School from Rockville Centre, will be attending the United States Military Academy at West Point after being nominated by McCarthy. The nominees were appointed after a rigorous application and interview process looking at various factors such as academic performance and extra-curricular activities, according to a press release.

“These young men and women, along with our current forces serving around the globe, are our next Greatest Generation — smart, patriotic, brave, and selfless,” McCarthy said.  “Their examples bring confidence that our nation is in good hands for the future.”
