RVC Resident Tapped for LIPA Board

Jeff Greenfield is the latest appointee to the utility's board of trustees.

Lifelong Rockville Centre resident and Nassau County Planning Commission chair Jeff Greenfield is the latest appointee to the LIPA board of trustees, according to Newsday.

Greenfield, who owns the Lynbrook-based insurance company NGL, was appointed by Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos, R-Rockville Centre.

His first public meeting with the Long Island Power Authority will be Jan. 24, he said.

He is a member of the Molloy College board of trustees and has been involved with the Rockville Centre Fire Department for many years.

Recently-named LIPA Chair Lawrence Waldman was also appointed to the LIPA board by Skelos in 2008. He was a later reappointed by Governors Paterson and Cuomo.

Attempts to contat Sen. Skelos were not immediately returned.
