RVC PD to Host Neighborhood Watch Meeting

The meeting will be held at Village Hall on Sept. 10.

The Rockville Centre Police Department will hold an informational meeting at Village Hall on Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. to explain its Neighborhood Watch Program to interested residents.

The program organizes neighbors to be extra eyes and ears for the police in order to help prevent and reduce crime.

“Community involvement is an important asset for the police,” said Rockville Centre Police Commissioner Chuck Gennario. “Neighborhood Watch strengthens neighborhood spirit and builds partnerships between the police and the community."

The Sept. 10 meeting will explain the philosophy and operation of the program and will seek to identify residents willing to become Block Captains in the program.

“Participants do not patrol,” Gennario said. “This is for neighbors to get to know each other and to watch out for each other."

I have two comments: If you want to contact the Village, contact Mayor Francis X. Murray. I don'tRead More know what block you live on. But on my block, the leaf blowers are DAILY and at ANY time of day. It is horrible noise pollution.
