Rockville Centre Mayor: 11 p.m. Curfew for All Residents

Murray declares a state of emergency in village.

Mayor Francis Murray has declared a state of emergency in Rockville Centre, and has declared an 11 p.m. curfew for all residents. He is also ordering all businesses to close by 10 p.m. tonight.

No one may be outside after 11 p.m. except for emergency workers, officials said.

Residents who live south of Merrick Road are reminded that the Nassau County Executive has ordered a mandatory evacuation of your area.

Residents who live south of Merrick Road are advised to seek shelter with family or friends who live north of Merrick Road.

If you cannot find shelter with family or friends, the Nassau County Office of Emergency Management has directed you to seek shelter at Nassau Community College.
