Eugene Murray is Honoree at Annual Mayor’s Golf, Tennis Classic

Fundraiser to benefit the RVC Community Fund is set for Oct. 1.

For its 25th anniversary, the annual Mayor's Golf and Tennis Classic and Dinner — the primary fundraiser for the RVC Community Fund — will honor former Mayor Eugene J. Murray, the founder of the fund.

“It is a very special honor and privilege for me to be able to salute and celebrate my father,” said Mayor Francis X. Murray, who is urging residents to attend the anniversary celebration.

The fund, directed exclusively to help members of the Rockville Centre community, has provided nearly $1.5 million in emergency assistance since 1987.
