Boardwalk-goers in Long Beach once again have a solid place to sit and look out at the Atlantic. The more than 700 memorial benches that lined the former boardwalk, before Hurricane Sandy heavily damaged the structure last October, have started to reappear on the new walkway. Click here for more.

Free Access to the LICM This Weekend

Bank of America is helping its cardholders enjoy free family fun this weekend with the program Museums on Us. Cardholders will receive free admission to Old Westbury Gardens, the Long Island Museum of American Art, History & Carriages, Suffolk County's Vanderbilt Museum and the Long Island Children's Museum in E. Strong Island Music Festival Coming to East Meadow

Disco diva Gloria Gaynor will perform at Eisenhower Park’s Lakeside Theatre as part of the “We Will Survive” Strong Island Music Festival Saturday, Oct. 19, Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano. The festival begins at 12:30 p.m. Bands will perform on three different stages located around Eisenhower Park's Field 6 and 6a. Click here for more.

TOH to Host Third Annual Bully Breed Brigade

If “every dog has its day,” a pit bull’s moment in the spotlight will surely be Saturday, Oct. 19 at the Hempstead Town Animal Shelter when an entire event is being dedicated to pit bull awareness and adoption for the shelter’s third annual “Bully Breed Brigade.” The town is partnering with Last Hope Animal Shelter, Rock N’ Rawhide and event sponsor News 12 on the “Bully Breed Brigade,” during which all pet adoption fees are being waived and a host of fun activities being held. Click here for more.
