Two Men Arrested in RVC After Roslyn Robbery

Three suspects were arrested in total.

Three men were arrested Thursday -- two in Rockville Cetnre -- for a burglary they committed in Rosyln Heights, police said.

According to detectives, John Coello, 22, of Union City, NJ, was seen driving a vehicle with stolen plates on Sunrise Highway in Bellmore around 1:15 a.m. After police attempted to pull his car over, Coello attempted to flee, and he intentionally rammed into a New York State Trooper's car in the process.

Two state troopers sustained minor injuries in the crash. They were treated and released from a local hospital.

Coello's vehicle was eventually stopped and he was placed under arrest, police said.

A second vehicle, occupied by Christopher Thomas, 26, of Matteson, Ill., and Duane Holmes, 41, of North Bergen, N.J., fled the scene, police said. The vehicle was eventually spotted and stopped on Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre where both men were placed under arrest.

An investigation revealed that the three allegedly acted together in a robbery at Jet Communications in Roslyn Heights, police said.

Coello has been charged with two counts of second-degree assault, as well as third-degree burglary and reckless driving. Thomas and Holmes were charged with third-degree burglary as well.

Their arraignment is scheduled for Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.

Wow. We got enough locals committing crimes. Now we got New Jersey imports raiding Long Island?
Is Long Island really so soft that out-of-staters are confident enough to pull off crimes there? Well, good work on catching these guys. Tell Christie to keep his trash on his side of the Hudson!
