Trio Arrested After Taser Robberies in Rockville Centre

Three Baldwin teens were arrested Saturday night after allegedly using a taser to rob several victims.

Three Baldwin teens were arrested late Saturday night after a series of robberies in both Rockville Centre and Baldwin.

According to Nassau County Police, Tristan Bryan, 18, Scheno St. Julien, 19, and (name withheld), allegedly used a taser to scare victims into turning over their belongings.

According to detectives, at 9:50 p.m. the three defendants, riding in a 1997 green Chevrolet Astro van traveling south on Oceanside Road in Rockville Centre, pulled over at Merrick Road, exited the vehicle and confronted three teenage male pedestrians. When the defendants made a verbal demand for money, two of the teenagers continued walking.

One defendant held a taser and activated it so the remaining victim could see the electrical spark, police said. The victim handed over cash and the defendants fled in the van. The victim was not injured.

According to detectives, at 10 p.m. one female and two male teenage pedestrians, walking on Wateredge Avenue and Parkview Place in Baldwin, were confronted by the same defendants. When two of the defendants exited the vehicle, the three teenagers ran from them and were able to call police and give a description. There were no proceeds and no injuries.

At 10:15 p.m. two male teenage pedestrians, walking at Knollwood Avenue and Lakeview Avenue in Rockville Centre, were approached by the green van occupied by the three defendants, police said. The defendants exited the van and one threatened the victims with the stun gun while making a verbal demand for money. The victims emptied their pockets and the defendants fled with cash and a cell phone. There were no injuries.

A notification was broadcast by police and at 10:45 p.m. the defendants were apprehended at Grand Avenue and Church Street in Baldwin. The taser and partial proceeds were recovered.

All three defendants were charged with Robbery 1st Degree (three counts), Robbery 2nd Degree (three counts), Attempted Robbery 1st Degree, Attempted Robbery 2nd Degree and Possession of a Dangerous Weapon 4th Degree (three counts).

The defendants will be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on June 26.

The charges are only an accusation and the defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
