RVC Teen Arrested in Oceanside Burglary

David Perez, 18, was charged with second-degree burglary.

A Rockville Centre teen was arrested on New Year's Day after he allegedly burglarized an Oceanside residence while its homeowners were out attending a New Year's Eve party, police said.

According to Nassau County Fourth Squad Detectives, David Perez, 18, of Rockville Centre, gained information that an Oceanside family was leaving their home for a New Year's Eve party, and their house would be left unoccupied. Armed with that information, Perez allegedly lifted various items from the home, but was later found with the stolen merchandise, which included an XBox 360 game console and a laptop.

Perez was charged with second-degree burglary and was arraigned in First District Court on Jan. 2.
