RVC Man Charged With Robbing Bank in June

George Armstrong and a homeless man allegedly committed the robbery together.

A Rockville Centre man was among two arrested in connection with a bank robbery in Franklin Square in June, Nassau Police reported.

According to detectives, David Traversa, 19, homeless and George Armstrong, 20, of Rockville Centre, entered Ridgewood Savings Bank on Hempstead Turnpike and presented a demand note to a teller. After taking an undetermined amount of money, they fled the scene on foot, police said.

Both defendants are charged with Robbery 3rd Degree and Grand Larceny 3rd Degree. Armstrong was additionally charged with six other unrelated warrant charges.

Both defendants were arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on an earlier date.
