Police: Woman Thrown to the Ground, Robbed

A woman was thrown to the ground and robbed of her cell phone while walking along N. Centre Avenue Sunday night, according to Nassau County Police.

The First Squad reports that a 36-year-old female was walking in front of 100 N. Centre Ave. after coming off the train when she was approached from behind by two suspects.

One of the suspects picked her up and threw her to the ground, police reported. The second suspect allegedly took the victim's phone from her hand and they fled on foot northbound on N. Center Avenue.

The victim sustained cuts and bruises to her face, legs and arms as well as a laceration over her eye. She was taken to an area hospital for treatment. 

The first suspect is described as male black, 5’ 10” tall, 18-22-years-old, 170 pounds wearing a dark hooded shirt with horizontal stripes. The second suspect is described as male black, 5’ 10” tall, 18-22 years old and 170 pounds. No further description is available at this time.
