Police Searching for Would-be Bank Robber

Police are searching for a man that passed a note to a teller demanding money at the Rockville Centre Citibank and then left empty handed.

On Nov. 22 at 11:55 a.m., the subject — described as white, between 5 foot 6 inches and 5 foot 7 inches, 30 to 35 years old with a red beard, medium complexion, medium build and wearing black plastic framed sunglasses, a light blue button down shirt, black jeans and light-colored bandana on his head — entered the bank, located at 297 Merrick Rd.

He walked directly to the tellers’ desk and placed a robbery demand note on the counter, police said. The teller, fearing physical injury, walked from her counter to a manager’s office. The subject, who was at the counter by himself, walked out of the branch without any money. He then used a local taxi service to flee the area and was dropped off in Island Park.
