Police Searching for Elderly West Hempstead Woman

Hazel James was last seen on Hempstead Gardens Drive Wednesday, cops said.

Nassau County Police have released a photo of an elderly West Hempstead woman they say went missing.

Hazel James, 82, was reported missing at 7:45 a.m. Thursday after she was last seen at her Hempstead Gardens Drive home, cops said.

Hazel is described as a black woman, 5-foot-8, thin build, dark complexion, 100-110 pounds, and black hair. Witnesses believe she was last seen in a dark green velvet sweat suit.

Due to a knee injury, Hazel may walk slowly, cops said.

Detectives are asking anyone who may know Hazel's whereabouts to call Nassau County Police at 516-573-7347 or dial 911. All callers will remain anonymous.

Hope they find her. Oh my gosh, my elderly Mom walks Hempstead Garden Drive all the time.
