Police: RVC Man Drove with 30 License Suspensions

The defendant was initially pulled over for not having stop lights.

A Rockville Centre man was arrested Monday morning for allegedly driving with 30 driver's license suspensions.

According to New York State Police, around 10:15 a.m., troopers stopped a black Mitsubishi Galant for not having stop lights eastbound on Hempstead Turnpike west of the Meadowbrook State Parkway in Hempstead.

A license check of the vehicle's operator, James Merriweather, 55, revealed that he had 30 license suspensions, police said.

Merriweather was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree and traffic violations. He was held for arraignment in Nassau County First District Court.

No comment. But waiting for the barrage.

What barrage? so he's driving with a suspended license. There are a lot of people in RVC driving without licenses. Good thing is he didn't hurt anybody.. he'll get due process through the courts like any other citizen. What's a real worry is all the illegal immigrants driving heavy commerical vehicles without a license or insurance. where's the crackdown on that?
