Police: Pizzeria Owner Sold Pills From Restaurant

Rockville Centre resident arrested after three-month investigation.

Suffolk County Police arrested a Rockville Centre resident and West Babylon pizzeria owner Tuesday who was allegedly selling illegal prescription pills out of his restaurant.

According to police, First Squad detectives, in conjunction with officers from the First Precinct Community Oriented Police Enforcement (COPE) Section, completed a three-month investigation into the illegal sale of prescription drugs at Miceli Brothers Pizzeria and Restaurant Tuesday evening.

The owner of the restaurant, Francesco Miceli, 50, of Rockville Centre, allegedly sold quantities of illegal Oxycodone hydrochloride pills to a police agent on numerous occasions, police said

At approximately 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, detectives and police officers, executing a search warrant, entered the restaurant, located at 1030 Little East Neck Road in West Babylon and arrested Miceli, police said.

Miceli was charged with seven counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a class B Felony; one count of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class B Felony; and one count of fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class C Felony.

Miceli is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Wednesday.
