New Vehicle Joins the RVC PD

Four-wheel drive Chevy Tahoe purchased primarily with county funds.

The Rockville Centre Police Department recently put a new traffic enforcement vehicle on the road, a four-wheel drive Chevy Tahoe purchased primarily with County funds made available through Legislator Joseph Scannell.

The vehicle will be very useful in the snow and will be used routinely for the department’s commercial vehicle enforcement details conducted with New York State Department of Transportation several times a month.

On hand to mark the vehicle’s entry into service are Rockville Centre Police Commissioner Chuck Gennario, Legislator Scannell, Mayor Fran Murray, Lt. James Vafeades at the wheel, Lt. Chris Romance, and police department liaison Trustee Mike Sepe.
