Victim was punched in the face and had his cell phone stolen.

A 17-year-old boy was punched in the face and robbed of his cell phone in Baldwin Monday afternoon.

According to Nassau County detectives, around 3 p.m., the 17-year-old was walking near Milburn Avenue and Clinton Place as a door-to-door salesman for Terminix.

While he talking on his cell phone, police said the teen was approached by a skinny, light-skinned black male suspect, who had been dropped off by a light-colored Toyota Prius.

The suspect asked to use the victim’s phone for an emergency call. Police said when the victim handed the phone to the suspect, he was punched in the face.

The suspect got back into the passenger side of the car and fled the scene, police said. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of a possible broken nose.

The suspect is further described to be approximately 16-20 years of age with long curly hair.
