Nearby: Cops Searching for Shoe Store Robber

Woman presented demand note and made off with cash in Oceanside, cops said.

Nassau County Police are looking for help finding a woman who robbed an Oceanside shoe store Thursday night.

Cops said an unidentified woman went to Nine West on Long Beach Road and presented a demand note to a cashier. The cashier cooperated with the demands and handed over an unknown amount of cash, cops said. The subject left the store with a handbag and wallet in addition to money from the register and left, police reported.

The incident happened at 7:50 p.m. Thursday.

The subject is described as a woman with thin build, black hair in a ponytail, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, and got into the passenger side of a black car, possibly a Nissan.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about the robbery to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
