Date marks second January court appearance for defendants.

and Kevin Coyle — the first three defendants arrested in the case — all entered a plea of not guilty during court dates on Jan. 3 and 4.

William Nelson and Nolan Kelly, who both turned themselves in to Nassau County Police on Dec. 27, pleaded not guilty on the same date, according to court documents.

While the not guilty plea came as no surprise during the January court dates, all five defendants were hit with additional charges along with the original charge of second-degree gang assault.

The defendants were all charged with assault with intent to cause physical injury, a misdemeanor, and assault with intent to cause physical injury with a weapon, a felony. Moore was also charged with a second count of assault with intent to cause physical injury.

Why is Maple and N. Forest the new crime hub and how can it be when the precinct is so close?
