A Manhattan woman was arrested on a DWI charge after she hit three parked cars in Oceanside, and her own car and another went up in flames, early Thursday morning, police said.
According to police, Laura A. Hartlieb, 32, was driving westbound on Merrick Road near Chestnut Street at 12:17 a.m. when she slammed into the three parked cars.
Two witnesses at the scene pulled Hartlieb from her burning car to safety, police said.
There were no passengers in the car that was engulfed in flames, police said.
An investigation at the scene revealed that Hartlieb had been driving under the influence and she was placed under arrest, police said. She was taken to Nassau University Medical Center for treatment for her injuries.
Hartlieb is scheduled for arraignment “as soon as practical,” police said.
