Driver 'Stable' After Two-Car Crash on Sunrise Highway

The incident occurred Sunday afternoon near North Oceanside Road.

Two drivers were taken to South Nassau Hospital Sunday afternoon after their vehicles collided on Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre.

One of the two drivers was seriously injured during the accident, but as of Sunday evening was "stable and expected to make it," according to Charles Gennario, commissioner of the Rockville Centre Police Department.

According to multiple reports, after the accident, one vehicle veered off into the wooded area north of Sunrise, while the second vehicle came to a stop near the corner of Sunrise and North Oceanside Road.

Rockville Centre Police were on the scene earlier.

no one was doing over the speed limit. the elderly women had a seizure and her foot fell on the gas pedal hitting the other car and that women got a concussion.
