  • Nov. 25 - At 11:45 p.m., Charran Webb, 28, of Queens, was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, failure to yield to a pedestrian on Sunrise Highway. Webb was also charged with two open warrants from the Village of Hempstead for trespass and speeding in a school zone.
  • Nov. 27 - At 2:25 a.m., Marco S. Berardi, 23, of Lynbrook, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and operating a motor vehicle with tinted windows on Whitehall Street.

Case Reports

  • Petty Larceny – At 8:51 a.m. on Nov. 23, the complainant reports that an unknown person(s) did break the passenger side window of their Toyota and removed their Garmin GPS system while the auto was parked on Robertson Road. The loss is valued at $650.
  • Criminal Mischief– At 3:15 a.m. on Nov. 24, the front door of Quality Convenience located at 188 Hempstead Ave. was broken with a large rock by unknown person(s). The value of the door is $700.
  • Grand Larceny - At 5:14 p.m. on Nov. 25, the complainant reports that while at Fun Station USA, located at 40 Rocklyn Ave., an unknown person(s) did remove their Coach wallet containing their NYS driver’s license, four credit cards, two medical cards, $40 dollars and the keys to their vehicle.
  • Petty Larceny - At 9:50 p.m. on Nov. 25, the complainant reported that an unknown person(s) did take their Apple iPhone while they were playing basketball at Sport Time, located at 175 Merrick Road. 
  • Grand Larceny - At 2:50 p.m. on Nov. 27, the complainant reported that their platinum diamond ring was missing from their residence located on Lester Avenue. The ring has been missing since May of 2009. The value of the ring is $8,672.

A Uniondale teen has been charged in the that occurred in West Hempstead Tuesday morning.

Daritza Lopez, 18, faces second-degree manslaughter, vehicular manslaughter, driving while intoxicated and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of motor vehicle.

According to Nassau County Police, Lopez lost control of her vehicle while driving along Hempstead Turnpike at 5:35 a.m. on Nov. 29. She struck a parked car, crossed over the westbound lane, entered the parking lot of an abandoned gas station and then slammed into the wall of a building.

Her passenger, 28-year-old Herica Conteras, also of Uniondale, was pronounced dead at the scene.
