Crimes Nearby: String of Burglaries, Alleged Drug Dealer Caught

The following arrest information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Lynbrook

Arrests

• On Aug. 8 at 8:09 p.m. Bruce Elder, 47, of Inwood, was arrested and charged with menacing in the third degree after an incident that occurred on Starks Place in Lynbrook.
• On Aug. 12 at 2:05 p.m. Nasreen Yousuf, 44, of Hewlett was arrested and charged with unlawful dealing with a child for selling tobacco products to a minor, which had occurred at the  located at 188 Hempstead Ave. in Lynbrook.
• On Aug. 12 at 3:05 a.m. Jean Jean-Bart, 27, of Elmont, Christopher Whitfield, 23, of Jamaica, Genevra Dommermuth, 21, of Elmont, Cory Johnson, 25, of the Bronx, and Christopher Young, 22, of Queens, Village were apprehended by the Lynbrook Police Department and were arrested and charged with robbery and assault which had occurred in Island Park. • On Aug. 13 at 3 a.m., Lauren Buckley, 18, and Emily Buckley, 18, both of Lynbrook, were arrested charged with unlawful dealing with a child for providing alcohol to minors at a residence in Lynbrook.

Crimes in West Hempstead, Malverne, Elmont and Franklin Square

BURGLARY

• Two West Hempstead homes were burglarized this week. One on Cedar Street on Aug. 10 and the other on Linden Street Aug. 12.
• A home on Wyoming Avenue in Lynbrook was burglarized on Aug. 13.
• Two homes in Valley Stream were burglarized. The first incident happened overnight on Aug. 7 to Aug. 8 on Putnam Avenue and the second on Aug. 9 on Locust Street.
• West Hempstead Beverage on Hempstead Turnpike was burglarized on Aug. 12.
• Macy's in Green Acres Mall in Valley Streamwas burglarized on Aug. 13.
• A business on Franklin Avenue in Franklin Square was burglarized overnight on Aug. 8 to Aug. 9.
• F and I Wholesale on Elmont Road in Elmont was burglarized overnight on Aug. 14 to Aug. 15.
• There was an attempted burglary at Getty gas station on Hempstead Turnpike in Elmont on Aug. 12.

GRAND LARCENY

• A vehicle parked on Hempstead Turnpike in West Hempstead was stolen on Aug. 7.
• A vehicle was stolen from the parking lot of Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream on Aug. 11. One day later, another vehicle was stolen from the nearby Sunrise Multiplex movie theater on Sunrise Highway.
• A car parked on Eureka Avenue in Elmont was stolen overnight on Aug. 11 to Aug. 12.
• Two motorcycles were stolen - one from Kings Court in Franklin Square and another from Prague Street in Valley Stream - on Aug. 11 to Aug. 12.
• Tires and rims were stolen from vehicles parked on Richard Street, Nightingale Road and 10 Place in West Hempstead, Tood Road, Cochran Place and E. Fenimore Street in Valley Stream, Hempstead Turnpike and Louis Avenue and Wellington Road in Elmont and Doris Avenue inFranklin Square from Aug. 7 to Aug. 12.

LARCENY/OTHER THEFTS

• A laptop was stolen from a vehicle parked on St. Pauls Place in West Hempstead on Aug. 9.
• A GPS unit was stolen from a car parked on Holt Street in West Hempstead overnight on Aug. 8 to Aug. 9.
• A GPS, personal papers and cash were stolen from a car parked on Hoeffner Avenue in Elmont on Aug. 8.
• An inspection sticker was stolen off of a car parked on Merrick Road in Valley Stream on Aug. 6.
• Three bicycles were stolen on Aug. 9. One from a location on Horton Avenue in Valley Stream and another in Elmont at the intersection of Tuxedo Drive adn Dutch Broadway. A fourth bicycle was stolen from the Pathmark parking lot on Franklin Avenue in Franklin Square.
•  Thieves broke a car window to steal a GPS from a vehicle parked at Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream overnight on Aug. 9 to Aug. 10.
• A wallet and phone were stolen out of a vehicle parked on Rollin Place in Valley Stream on Aug. 11 to Aug. 12.
• An iPod and CDs were stolen from a vehicle parked on Butler Boulevard in Elmont on Aug. 14.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

• An Elmont man on 109 Avenue awoke to the sound of his car starting on Aug. 8 amd then found his car door open and the steering wheel tampered with.
• Unknown suspects caused damage to cars parked on Barrymore Boulevard and Rintin Street inFranklin Square, Lawrence Street, 239th Street and 109th Avenue in Elmont and the parking lot of WalMart at Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream from Aug. 9 to Aug. 13.
