March 19 - at 9:10 p.m. James Darrell Cole, 48, of St. Albans, was arrested and charged with trademark counterfeiting (counterfeit DVD’S), unlawful possession of marijuana and insufficient brake lights on Merrick Road.

March 23 - at 3:20 p.m. Michael B. Yuksektepe, 19, of Lynbrook, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, failure to signal a turn, no front registration plate and insufficient brake lights on Ocean Avenue.

Case Reports

Assault – At 3:30 p.m. on March 19, the complainant reports that while sitting in a friend’s car talking they became involved in a verbal altercation. The complainant then stated that the verbal altercation became physical at which time the complainant was assaulted. The assault occurred while the car was parked on Eldert Street.

Grand Larceny – At 10:40 p.m. on March 20, the complainant reports that an unknown person(s) withdrew $3,000 from their Chase bank account.  

Aggravated Harassment – At 12:40 p.m. on March 22, the complainant reports that they have been receiving harassing, annoying and threatening e-mails and phone calls at their place of employment on Harriet Place.

Attempted Identity Theft - At 4:10 p.m. on March 23, the complainant reports that an unknown person(s) filed a tax return with the IRS and New York State in their name attempting to receive their tax refund.
