Jan. 17 - at 2:35 a.m., Gilberto Rivera, 43 of Hempstead, was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, unsafe lane change and operating without a license plate light on Peninsula Boulevard.

Jan. 17 - at 9 a.m., Darin M. Sirianni, 39, of Elmont, was arrested and charged with criminal contempt at 1 Columbus Drive.

Jan. 19 - at 10:43 p.m., Filip A. Radomanczyk, 26, of Bellmore, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana on Sunrise Highway.

Jan. 20 - at 5:23 p.m., Nickita Toppin, 24, of Brooklyn, was arrested and charged with third degree grand larceny at Citibank, located at 320 Merrick Road. The defendant deposited a fraudulent check into her personal Citibank account and then started to make ATM withdrawals from her account to obtain the funds. The complainant has sustained a loss in excess of $8,000.

Jan. 21 - at 2:41 a.m., Eric Montefusco, of Valley Stream, was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident on East Argyle Street.

Jan. 23 - Michael Pacella, 34, of East Rockaway was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated at Lincoln Boulevard and East Park Avenue in Long Beach.

Case Reports

Lost Property – At 5:22 p.m. on Jan. 18, the complainant reports a lost New York State Dealer registration plate. The plate was lost in the vicinity of Sunrise Volkswagen 931 Sunrise Highway.

Criminal Mischief – At 7:11 p.m. on Jan. 19, the complainant reports that an unknown person(s) damaged their 2008 Toyota by scratching the car with an unknown object and breaking the passenger side mirror while the car was parked on Lakeview Ave. The total damage to the car is $500.

Burglary - At 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 20, the complainant reports that two unknown persons broke a rear window and enter the complainant’s house on Whitehall Street. The persons then removed $4,000 from the complainant’s bedroom. The subjects are described as a white male, stocky build wearing a white warm-up suit with dark stripes on sleeves and a white male, wearing light jeans and a light colored shirt. The subjects maybe operating a silver VW Jetta with a white registration plate, unknown registration number.

Petty Larceny - At 8:30 p.m. on Jan. 21, the complainant reports parking his 2002 Nissan in the rear parking area of the Knights of Columbus, located at 78 Hempstead Ave. and entering the building. At 8:50 p.m., the complainant went back to his car and found a male wearing an all black sweat suit in the front driver’s seat. As the complainant approached the male jumped to the passenger side and exited the car. The male then jumped the fence and fled northbound.

The subject is described as a male, 5’8” tall, 160 lbs, medium build wearing a black-hooded sweat suit. The complainant then found the window of the rear driver’s door smashed and his GPS and digital camera missing. The value of the property and window is $750.

Criminal Mischief - At 8:56 p.m. on Jan. 21, the complainant found that some unknown person(s) did break the front passenger window of their 2005 Mazda which was parked in the rear parking area of the Knights of Columbus. The value of the window is $350.

Criminal Mischief - At 2:50 p.m. on Jan. 22, the complainant reports that an unknown person(s) did break the driver’s window of their 2008 Ford which was parked in the driveway of Gentle Care 130 Merrick Road. The value of the window is $200.

Crimes in Elmont, Floral Park, Vallet Stream, Malverne and West Hempstead

UNLAWFUL DEALING WITH CHILD

An officer observed Kyung Jong Park sell alcohol to an underage agent working for the police at BRC Market on Meacham Avenue in Elmont on Jan. 18. Police say Park, of Port Washington, was arrested after he did not ask for any form of identification showing proof of age.

Thomas Lee, of Elmont, was arrested on Jan. 18 for allegedly selling alcohol to an underage agent working for the police. Officers say Lee, who was working at 7 to 8 Deli and Grocery on Gotham Avenue in Elmont, did not ask for any form of identification showing proof of age.

BURGLARIES

Three Valley Stream businesses were burglarized between Jan. 19 and Jan. 23. The businesses were Braccos Music Center on Rockaway Avenue, Piercing Pagoda at Green Acres Mall and Gershow Recycling on East Hawthorne Avenue.

A home on McKinley Avenue in Franklin Square was burglarized on Jan. 19.

Burglaries occurred at two homes on Jan. 17 - one on Madison Street in Elmont and another on Valley Lane West in Valley Stream.

Another burglary happened at a garage located on Buscher Avenue in Valley Stream on Jan. 20.

GRAND LARCENIES

A wallet was stolen from a vehicle on Jan. 17 while it was parked on Marguerite Avenue in South Floral Park.

An unknown person broke the passenger side window of a car parked on New Hyde Park Road in Franklin Square on Jan. 22 and stole a pocketbook from inside.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

An unknown person broke the rear window of a car parked on Maxwell Street in West Hempstead between Jan. 16 and Jan. 17.

Police responded to an alarm at North Island Check Cashing on Linden Boulevard in Elmont on Jan. 20 and observed damage to the store's front window.

Between Jan. 19 and Jan. 20, an unknown person threw a brick through the front glass door of the Citgo Gas Station located on Hendrickson Avenue in Valley Stream. That same night, an unknown suspect kicked and broke the front glass door of another Valley Stream business located on Rockaway Avenue.
