Crimes Nearby: Lakeview Home Burglary, Bagel Store Hit Twice

The following information was provided by the Nassau County and Malverne Police Departments.

These are crimes committed in Lakeview, Franklin Square, Elmont, Valley Stream, Malverne and West Hempstead:

Burglary

  • A home on Ontario Road in Lakeview was burglarized on Sept. 7.
  • A Valley Stream home was burglarized on Sept. 9.
  • A residence on Hempstead Turnpike in Elmont was burglarized on Aug. 13.
  • Bagels on the Square, located on Franklin Avenue in Franklin Square, was burglarized on Sept. 6 and again on the night of Sept. 7 to Sept. 8. Prince Umbertos Pizza, another business located on Franklin Avenue in Franklin Square, was burglarized on Sept. 7.
  • Far East Chinese Kitchen on Hempstead Turnpike in Elmont was burgalized on Sept. 10.
  • Advantage Vision on New Hyde Park Road in Franklin Square was burglarized between Sept. 10 and Sept. 11.

Grand Larceny

  • A car parked on Jefferson Street in Franklin Square was stolen sometime between Aug. 3 and Aug. 28.
  • A vehicle parked on Keller Avenue in Elmont was stolen on Sept. 11.
  • A motorcyle parked on Rockaway Avenue in Valley Stream was stolen on Sept. 9.

Larceny/Other Thefts

  • A woman parked on Marlborough Road in West Hempstead reported that cash had been stolen from her car by an unknown person between Sept. 5 and Sept. 6.
  • The owner of a vehicle parked on Oak Street in West Hempstead reported that he found his car door left open on Sept. 7 and his GPS was missing from inside.

Criminal Mischief

  • An unidentified subject or subjects threw rocks at Nordon Drugs on Hempstead Avenue in Malverne, breaking a glass window and door. The incidents occurred around 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 11 and Sept. 12.  for the story.
