Crimes in Lynbrook

May 29 — at 5 p.m., Franciso Cazares, 31, of Elmont, was arrested and charged
with driving while intoxicated and no passing zone on Franklin Avenue.

May 29 — at 12:30 p.m., Leonid E. Harris, 30, of Jamaica, NY, was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an auto accident at Lynbrook Police Department.

May 29 — at 11:29 p.m., Shady Zeidan, 21, of Valley Stream, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana on Whitehall Street.

June 3 — at 7:40 p.m., Jovan N. Greenhill, 31, of Uniondale, was arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated unlicensed operation, failure to obey traffic control device and circumvention of interlock device on Peninsula Boulevard. According to police, the defendant had a restriction on his license requiring any vehicle they operate have an ignition interlock device installed, which required that person to give a breath sample before the vehicle would start.

Lost Property — On May 26 at 10:10 a.m a complainant reported that while waiting for a train to Long Beach at the Lynbrook Train Station, they placed their Blackberry Curve cell phone on a platform bench. The complainant boarded the train and realized they left the phone behind. Upon returning to the train station, the phone was no longer on the bench. The value of the phone is $500.

Grand Larceny — On May 29 at 9:31 p.m., a complainant reported that while his landscaping truck was parked at the BP Gas Station, located at 440 Sunrise Highway, three males broke into his vehicle and stole various equipment.

The males removed a Honda lawnmower, valued at $600, a Redmark leaf blower, valued at $400, a Honda edger, valued at $350, and a Echo string trimmer, valued at $250. The suspect were described as black males with dark complexions, large builds and one was wearing a white shirt with blue cargo pants. The suspects left scene in a blue Dodge Durango, which was parked in field No. 8.

Forcible Touching — On June 4 at 2:10 p.m., a complainant, the father of a 13-year-old female, reported that while his daughter was walking in front of 477 Merrick Road on May 11 at 5 p.m., she was touched by an unknown male. The complainant reported that his daughter was touched on the buttocks by this male. The complainant's daughter became scared and ran home after the incident.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 30-35 years old, 6-foot-4, about 220 pounds, medium build, short black hair, light complexion, wearing blue jeans and a black t-shirt.
