Arrests

  • Jan. 9 at 10:25 p.m., Hakeem Williams, 38 of Kissimmee, FL, was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation and operating without a license plate light on Peninsula Boulevard.
  • Jan. 12 at 12:05 p.m., Kadeem Kevin Josephs, 22, of Rosedale was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana on Merrick Road.
  • Jan. 13 at 4:19 a.m., Ashraf M. E. Hammam, 20, of Garden City Park, was arrested and charged with DWI and obstructing an intersection on Peninsula Boulevard.
  • Jan. 13 at 10:22 p.m., Jose O. Sanchez, 40, of Hempstead, was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, speeding and circumvention of interlock device on Peninsula Boulevard. The defendant did have a restriction on his license requiring any vehicle they operate have an ignition interlock device installed, which required that person to give a breath sample before the vehicle would start.
  • Jan. 16 at 11:35 p.m., Lemus Gerson Monge, 40, of Hempstead, was arrested and charged with failure to appear (warrant) on Ocean Avenue.
  • Jan. 16 at 12:55 a.m., Neil I. Presser, 19 of Hewlett, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana on Peninsula Boulevard.

  • Grand Larceny — At 10:48 p.m. on Jan. 11, the complainant reports that someone removed a platinum band two-carat diamond ring. The ring was taken from the victim’s residence on Noble Street and valued at $7,500.
  • Petit Larceny — At 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 12, the complainant reports that an unknown person(s) removed two NYS Inspection Stickers from Mavis Discount Tire, located at 407 Ocean Ave. The stickers were removed sometime in Nov. of 2011 and valued at $8.
  • Identity Theft — At 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 12, the complainant reports that an unknown person(s) opened up a Chase credit card with their personal information and then charged $600 to the account. The complainant resides on Davison Avenue.
