Crimes Nearby: ER Bank Robbed at Gunpoint

A Chase Bank in East Rockaway was robbed Monday evening by two men armed with handguns.

According to Nassau County detectives, around 6 p.m., two black male suspects, both armed with handguns, entered the Chase Bank located at 111 Main St. in East Rockaway. The suspects confronted employees and demanded money.

After taking an undetermined amount of cash, the suspects fled in an unknown direction, police said.

Three employees were present at the time and no injuries were reported.

The first suspect is described as being approximately 30 years old, 6 feet tall, medium build, dark complexion, wearing a FedEx uniform, a dark-colored baseball style cap and sunglasses.

The second suspect is described as being approximately 35 to 40 years old, 6 feet tall, stocky build, dark complexion, wearing a flat Kangol type cap and a dark-colored suit with a dark-colored tie.

Crimes in Lynbrook

May 17 — at 3:27 p.m., a 16-year-old from Springfield Gardens was arrested and charged with two counts criminal possession of a controlled substance on Sunrise Highway.

May 18 — at 9 p.m., Mohammed A. K. Rashel, 26, of Valley Stream, was arrested and charged with unlawfully dealing with a minor and criminal contempt (warrant) at 484 Merrick Road. The defendant, while employed as a clerk at 99 Cents Power and Grocery, allegedly sold two cans of 24-ounce beer to a 16 year old.

May 20 — at 8:49 p.m., Michael P. Guerriero, 23, of Lindenhurst, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon, inadequate muffler and tinted windows on Garden Drive.

A Brooklyn woman was arrested at the Capri Motor Inn in Lynbrook on May 13 after allegedly stealing a car earlier that day.

According to Lynbrook Police, around 5:30 a.m. on May 13, a complainant reported to the 103th Precinct of the New York Police Department that a female, who he had met early in the evening, had taken his car from his driveway.

The female, defendant Zipporah Williams, 23, removed the key fob for the complainant's vehicle when he fell asleep and took the car without the permission or knowledge of the complainant, police said.
