  • On Oct. 30 at 1:07 a.m., Wayne A Grannum, 29, of Hempstead, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and operating the wrong way on a one way street on Broadway.
  • On Nov. 1 at 10:46 p.m., Walter G Coronado, 43 of Inwood, was arrested and charged with circumvention of interlock device (a court ordered ignition interlock device), operating with restricted license and operating a motor vehicle while using a hand held cell phone on Sunrise Highway.
  • On Nov. 2 at 5 p.m., Frank Rodriguez, 49, of Rockaway Beach, was arrested and charged with for leaving the scene of an incident (accident) with personal injury on Merrick Road.
  • On Nov. 2 at 8:38 p.m., Charles Clementz, 45, of Massapequa Park, was arrested and charged with violation of probation (warrant) on Sunrise Highway. Clementz was also charged with robbery and criminal contempt from an incident that occurred in Bethpage.
  • On Nov. 4 at 3:10 a.m., Michael L. Dimiceli, 23, of Lynbrook, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana on Charles Street.

Police apprehended a Lakeview man in Malverne early on Nov. 4 after he allegedly robbed a taxi driver at gunpoint.

Clarence Meekins, 26, of Lakeview, was arrested around 1:45 a.m. on Nov. 4 on School Street, according to Malverne Police Chief John Aresta.

Meekins reportedly robbed a taxi driver on Beverly Road in Lakeview shortly after 1 a.m. and then fled on foot into Malverne, Aresta told Patch.

He ran across the athletic fields of Malverne High School but police officers from Malverne, Lynbrook and Nassau County established a perimeter along School Street, Ocean Avenue and North Cambridge Street.

A foot pursuit ensued on Wicks Lane, where police say Meekins dropped a handgun and an undisclosed amount of cash. He was soon captured near Howard T. Herber Middle School in Malverne.

Meekins was charged with armed robbery and was arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead.
