Arrests

March 14 - at 11:53 p.m., David C. Ginter, 40, of Lynbrook, was arrested and charged with a village code violation and failing to clean up dog feces (warrant) on Atlantic Avenue.

March 15 - at 3:07 p.m. Mitchell Garnett, 56, of Hempstead, was arrested and charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle on Webb Avenue in Hempstead.

March 16 - at 5:20 p.m., James T. Colin, 17, of Lynbrook, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of stolen property and unlawful possession of marijuana on Merrick Road.

March 17 -  at 4 p.m. Cynthia D. Thomas, 45, of Hempstead, was arrested and charged with grand larceny at CVS, located at 633 Merrick Road.

March 17 -  at 4 p.m. Jason D. Jackson, 31, of Hempstead, was arrested and charged with grand larceny at CVS, located at 633 Merrick Road.

Case Reports

Identity Theft – At 9:45 a.m. on March 14, the complainant reports that an unknown person(s) used their Visa debit card number on seven different occasions. The total amount of charges is $3,313.83.

Grand Larceny – At 9:30 p.m. on March 15, the complainant reports that an unknown person(s) removed their pocketbook from their auto while it was parked on Broadway. The pocket book contained the complainant’s ID, debit card and checkbook.

Grand Larceny – At 5 p.m. on March 16, the complainant, located at 639 Merrick Road, reports that an unknown person(s) removed 16 catalytic converters from their vehicles parked in the private parking area of 691 Merrick Road. The total amount of the loss is $42,742.

Attempted Identity Theft - At 2:10 p.m. on March 18, the complainant reports that an unknown person(s) attempted to open a Target credit card in their name and charge $190.47 worth of merchandise to the account.

I have two comments: If you want to contact the Village, contact Mayor Francis X. Murray. I don'tRead More know what block you live on. But on my block, the leaf blowers are DAILY and at ANY time of day. It is horrible noise pollution.

What about the prostitutes that stay at the area hotels. we stayed at best western on sunriseRead More highway after sandy and we were approached at least 3x's. besides getting bed bug bites. The manager said its a problem in all the hotels
