Crime Watch: Three Attempted Home Burglaries on Harvard Avenue

Recent police activity as reported by the RVC PD.

Arrests:

On Dec. 22 at 5:22 p.m., a 16-year-old from Flanders Drive in North Woodmere was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana following an investigation by police personnel at the Village Green opposite 110 Maple Ave. in Rockville Centre. 

On Dec. 26, Samuel Williams, 48, of Lakeview, was arrested on N. Centre Avenue in Rockville Centre for petit larceny after reportedly stealing $14 from a donation box located at 29 Quealy Place in Rockville Centre.

Burglary:

On Dec. 23 at 5:20 a.m., a complainant from Vanderveer Court in Rockville Centre reported that two unknown males attempted to enter his residence through a sliding glass door in the rear of the house. The subjects fled on foot in an unknown direction with no proceeds.

On Dec. 23, a complainant from Harvard Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that sometime between Dec. 22 at 11 p.m. and Dec. 23 at 7:40 a.m., unknown person(s) entered his residence through a kitchen window and removed $175 and two Apple iPods without permission.

On Dec. 23, a complainant from Harvard Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that sometime between Dec. 22 at 11:30 p.m. and Dec. 23 at 7:50 a.m., person(s) entered his parked 2007 Saturn and attempted to enter her residence with keys that had been in the vehicle. No access to the residence was gained and miscellaneous paperwork was found to be missing from the vehicle.

On Dec. 23, a complainant from Hempstead Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that sometime between Dec. 22 at 10 p.m. and Dec. 23 at 8:30 a.m., unknown person(s) entered his residence through a dining room window and removed $20 without permission.

On Dec. 23, a complainant from Harvard Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that sometime between Dec. 22 at 9:30 p.m. and Dec. 23 at 6:15 a.m., person(s) entered his parked 2007 Volvo and 2003 Volvo and attempted to enter his residence with keys that had been in the vehicles. No access to the residence was gained.

Assault:

On Dec. 24 at approximately 3:37 a.m., a complainant from Wolf Avenue in Valley Stream reported that four unknown person(s) assaulted him while in the vicinity of the taxi stand opposite 49 Front St. in Rockville Centre.

Larceny:

On Dec. 22, a complainant from Wanser Avenue in Inwood reported that he lost his wallet in the vicinity of N. Village Avenue in Rockville Centre on Dec. 9 at approximately 11:50 a.m. and unknown person(s) made unauthorized purchases of $17.23 and $4.12.

On Dec. 23, a complainant from Richmond Road in Rockville Centre reported that sometime between Dec. 22 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 23 at 9:30 a.m., unknown person(s) entered his unlocked 2008 Lexus that was parked in the driveway. There was no reported loss at the time of report.

Harassment:

On Dec. 22, a complainant from Hempstead Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that an unknown person operating a grey motor vehicle did follow her from her residence at 10:30 a.m. for approximately fifteen minutes causing her alarm.

On Dec. 22, a complainant from Vernon Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that an unknown person operating a grey Honda did damage the side view mirror to his motor vehicle and when confronted regarding the damage the subject then punched him in the left eye causing swelling.

Unusual Incident:

On Dec. 21, a complainant from S. Kensington Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) telephoned and claimed that she owed $8,682 in Florida taxes causing her to send money to a Bank of America account in the name of an individual not known to the complainant.

On Dec. 22, complainant owner from a N. Park Avenue in Rockville Centre men's clothing store reported that an unknown male attempted to collect money for a debt collection agency without providing proper identification.

Property Damage:

On Dec. 21, complainant manager from Ayhans Kabob Restaurant located at 201 Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre reported damage to a Christmas lights by unknown means.
