Crime Watch: RVC Woman Robbed on S. Village Avenue

Recent police activity as reported by the RVC PD.

Arrests:

On Dec. 30 at approximately 2:09 a.m., Christopher J. Murphy, 20, of Holbrook, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct following an investigation by police personnel at With Cheese Please located at 1 N. Park Ave. in Rockville Centre.

On Dec. 31 at approximately 8:08 a.m., Horace B. Campbell Jr., 30, of Rockville Centre, was arrested for fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment following an investigation by police personnel in which the defendant damaged a bedroom door and pulled the victim’s hair while at their residence.

On Jan.1  at approximately 12:01 a.m., Jose A. Palencia, 26, of Inwwod, was arrested and charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property following an investigation by police personnel during a vehicle traffic law stop on North Centre Avenue in which the defendant was in possession of a stolen New York State vehicle registration plate.

On Jan. 1 at 3:52 p.m., a S. Village Avenue resident reported that she was robbed by an unknown male while she was walking on the sidewalk in the vicinity of 10 Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre. The subject reportedly fled from the scene on foot with proceeds that included the victim’s personal papers, keys and $30.

Burglary:

On Jan. 1 at 7:38 a.m., a store manager from Waldbaum’s, 399 Ocean Avenue, Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) gained access to the store by cutting a hole in the roof at approximately 11:30 PM on Dec. 31, 2010.  Once inside the building, two safes were damaged in an attempt to force them open. There were no reported proceeds.

Attempted Burglary:

On Dec. 28, a complainant from Bargain Liquors located at 172 Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) damaged a glass entrance door at approximately 11 p.m.; no access was gained and there were no reported proceeds.
