Crime Watch: Purse Snatched, Menacing in the Park

The following information was supplied by the Rockville Centre Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Arrest

• A 24-year-old Freeport resident was arrested on Oct. 15 at 12:26 a.m. and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the second degree and a VTL violation following an investigation by police personnel in the vicinity of Sunrise Highway and North Kensington Avenue.

Alcohol Beverage Control Violation

• A 41-year-old West Hempstead resident was issued an appearance ticket on Oct. 20 at 2:30 a.m. for ABC violation disorderly premise following an investigation by police personnel in the vicinity of Vibe Lounge, located at 60 North Park Ave.

Robbery

• A complainant from Lehigh Court reported to police on Oct. 15 at 11:17 p.m. that an unknown person robbed her of a purse containing $80 and personal property while in the driveway of the residence. The fleeing subject entered a small white vehicle operated by a second unknown person and was last seen heading west on Beverly Road.

Burglary

• A complainant from Allen Road reported to police that sometime between Oct. 10 and 20, an unknown person(s) damaged and removed three screens to the residence without permission. There was no apparent access gained and the screens were recovered in the backyard.

Menacing

• A complainant from Meehan Lane reported to police on Oct. 20 at 7:36 p.m. that he was menaced with a pocket knife by an unknown man while in the vicinity of Morgan Days Park.

Public Lewdness

• A complainant from Ongley Street reported to police on Oct. 16 that at about 7:30 a.m., an unknown man in a black SUV vehicle committed lewd behavior while on the street.

Harassment

• A complainant from Merrick Road reported to police on Oct. 18 at 1:50 p.m. that she received two telephone calls to the business from an unknown person(s) causing annoyance and alarm.
